Calling all Coming Home Revival Prayer Band Members to pray for:

Spirit-enabled unity of the Leadership Team and the cooperating pastors.

In November of 2010, four Pastors and two evangelists met in Jesup to consider God’s leading in conducting an Area-Wide meeting in Southeast Georgia.  Immediately, everyone sensed a spirit of unity and purpose in holding such an event.  Since that time, the leadership team has taken the necessary steps to organize the services, secure the auditorium, rally a prayer team, prepare the advertising, and conduct prayer meetings.

All is going well but make no mistake, the Devil hates what is happening.  He will try at every twist and turn to disturb, hinder, discourage, and stop this work.  Pray today for a Spirit-enabled unity of the Coming Home Leadership Team and supporting pastors.  The Evil One would love to disrupt the unity that is present amongst those leading this needed endeavor.  Pray that his efforts will be thwarted, and that the demons of hell will have no influence at all in the Coming Home meeting.  Pray as well for a spirit of unity amongst the choir members, the ushers, the nursery workers, the parking lot attendants, and the counselors.

Ephesians 4:1-7 instructs us to endeavor to “keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”  The action is unity.  The key to this oneness of purpose however, is found in the attitude of verses 1-2.  “I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love” (Ephesians 4:1-2).  With the attitude right, the action can be right, and then the aim (verses 12-13) will be right.  “Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12-13).  Pray that everyone involved in this goal will be filled Spirit-empowered unity.

Calling all of the Revival Prayer Band to pray for Genuine, Deep, Personal, and Powerful revival.

“Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee” (Psalm 85:6)?

Many areas demand our prayer attention as we seek the Lord’s face for revival, but none is so great as our own desperate need!  When praying for the Coming Home Area-Wide Meeting in Southeast Georgia, plead first for God’s fire to burn within your own heart!  This should be a prayer for genuine revival.  No counterfeits will do!  We are not looking for TV screen fire.  We want God to send the real deal.  This must begin within all of our hearts including the preacher, the choir member, the usher, the nursery worker, the counselor, the greeter, and certainly the Revival Prayer Band.  When we pray for ourselves and for each other, ask God to burn a true-blue spiritual blaze within.  See I Kings 18:37-39.

Then we are praying for a deep work of God.  Surface cleaning will not do.  We must beg God, however painful it may be, to do some deep spring cleaning.  Throw open every door!  Lift every rug!  Search every closet!  Cleanse every stain!  This must be the focus of our attention.  God will use sanctified vessels for His glory, and to be set apart, we must be deeply cleansed.  See Psalm 139:23-24.

As you continue to pray, ask God to provide a personal revival.  Great fires begin with a spark.  That spark is needed in each of our hearts.  Ask for a great area-wide impact with the gospel, but remember that begins with you.  God has ordered these events and this meeting to work in individual hearts.  Let it begin with you, and rejoice when the raindrops fall.  Revival is not a carrot on a stick that is to be constantly pursued and never received.  God will give revival as we meet His conditions, so seek it for yourself, and when it comes to you, thank Him!  See II Chronicles 29:2-3.

Finally, when you pray, ask God for a powerful renewal!  We want God to impact Southeast Georgia in amazing ways!  God’s power is limitless, and we should be asking to see this limitless power!  Don’t pray small prayers!  Don’t pray unbelieving prayers!  Ask Him for miracles!  This is the kind of God we serve!  He wants to do “exceeding abundantly above all we could ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us” (Ephesians 3:20).  Pray for the impossible!  We want to see something happen that can only be explained by the power of God.  Then He alone will receive the glory!  See Psalm 63:1-2.
